Chester Jackpot Race Meeting Friday

This Chester meeting has been a total nightmare so far! It has totally ruined my strike rate, so I hope to turn it all back around today. . .

This result enraged me (and many others probably) with O'Brien running two which came 1st and 2nd

2:45
1 Golden Sword 25-1
2 Masterofthehorse 13-8 Fav
3 Debussy 11-4

So the betting got it totally wrong, but remember O'Brien has been in trouble for winning with so called pace-makers before..

"Murtagh (Masterofthehorse 2nd) was asked to explain his ride to the stewards, who took no action and added: "I rode him as I was told. In two of his races last year he was ridden handy and didn't finish his races. Aidan said to drop him in today, let him relax and finish his race."

Hmmmmm

The race report reads "Any thoughts thatGOLDEN SWORD was here to act as a pacemaker for Masterofthehorse were partly confirmed when the former was sent straight into the lead and set a decent pace, but not many would have still expected him to still be in front at the line. As soon as his rider asked him to stretch away from his nearest rivals passing the 3f pole, it became obvious that it would have taken something special to catch him and that never looked like happening. He had run well to finish fourth in a French Group 2 on his seasonal reappearance last month, and this step up to 1m4f proved to be no problem at all. It also showed that he doesn´t need soft ground and it´s probably worth taking a positive view of this form, but he is still a top-priced 40-1 for the Derby with Ladbrokes.
