Northern Racing Focus

Northern Racing Focus, tips:

With Carlisle abandoned runners for my favourite Northern trainers are very thin on the ground, in fact there is just one "Toss The Caber 7/2 13:50 Leicester". Luckily Reveley has a great 29% strike rate here in hurdles, and dropped to a seller Toss looks a value bet at 7/2.

NB today's winners will not be eligible to go for the bonus pool next week so any winners of the main scoop6 next week will have a pop at it in time for Xmas

news - www.racingpost.co.uk: "Lee Mottershead reports:

THE chance to be made a millionaire - and perhaps a double millionaire - will be presented by the Scoop6 next Saturday after the collective brains chasing a £1.5 million pot of gold failed on Saturday to do so despite having more than half the Hennessy Gold Cup running for them.

Professional punter Harry Findlay, who held two of the eight triumphant tickets from a week ago, and the six remaining win fund victors collaborated in a bid to boost their prospects of finding the winner of the Hennessy, the race selected by the Tote as the gateway to the £1,529,525.

However, the newly formed Scoop6 'syndicate' failed to find 25-1 shot Madison Du Berlais and, as a result, around £2m will be up for grabs the next time the bonus fund can be played for on Saturday week."

So the syndicates will be hurting big style, if they continue to chase their losses next week their should be a healthy win fund and of course the bonus pool the next week.

Have been trying to find next Saturdays Channel 4 Racing schedule, no joy but will post the meetings and/or races for next weeks scoop6 asap

Sunday Free Horse Racing Tips Results

A tough days racing at Aintree yesterday with just the one winner at "2.15 Serabad won at 9/2"

Going back to the scoop6, the media seem dead keen for the one £2 punter to come forward for publicity purposes. From the reports I guess the other 7 winning tickets belonged to syndicates, high stakes players which they would rather not publicise to keep joe public having his £2 entries.

Racing post report "THE mysterious punter who on Saturday won £437,011 on the Scoop6 after staking just £2 has been revealed to be a married man living in Newbury, but nothing else is set to be revealed about him unless he abandons his desire for anonymity.

Attempts by the Tote and Stan James - in whose Thatcham shop the winningbet was placed - to locate the punter today resulted in him making himself known to the bookmakers. However, he has yet to agree to reveal himself to the wider world.

Stan James spokeswoman Laura Stephens said: "The winning Scoop6 punter lives in Newbury and is a married man. At this stage that's all we know as he ticked the anonymous box, but we hope he will change his mind about anonymity later in the week and agree to publicity."

The £2 punter held one of the eight winning tickets, the owners ofwhich will all get the chance on Saturday to win a share of the £1,529,525 in the bonus fund. "

news - scoop6 winners

news - www.racingpost.co.uk: "EIGHT winning tickets won Saturday's Scoop6 pool, each taking home £437,011.39.

Going into the last leg - the 3.50 at Lingfield - 37 tickets remained, with only three of the runners not covered.

Duff, trained in Ireland by Edward Lynam, ran away with the final race, much to the delight of the eight ticket-holders.

One of the lucky winners was Racing UK presenter Peter Naughton, who was working for the racing channel as Duff recorded his victory.

'My hands are shaking. There are a fair few of us who have put £50 in each for the last few weeks, so we thought we would have another crack this time. I would say there is around 60 or so in the group,' said Naughton.

Another winner is reported to beHarry Findlay, who is believed to have had more than one winning ticket.

The pool reached £4,994,416 before the start of the first race, which was won by Atlantic Story, who got favourite backers off to a cracking start under Ryan Moore. The second leg went to Romany Princess - also ridden by Moore.

The 2.45 at Haydock looked tricky on paper with the majority of punters going for Osako D'Airy. However, he could only manage fourth as Possol lifted the prize.

Punters placed their faith in the Pricewise selection Bronze Cannon in the fourth leg, with John Gosden's inmate carrying 986 tickets, however, Yahrab lifted that contest under Jamie Spencer."

news - www.racingpost.co.uk:

"THE Tote have selected four all-weather Flat races at Lingfield plus one event from each of the jumps cards at Haydock and Huntingdon for Saturday's record-breaking Scoop6.

The 2.10, 2.40, 3.20 and 3.50 events from Lingfield will be joined by Haydock's 3m handicap chase at 2.45 and Huntingdon's 3.30 contest - which becomes the 3m2f handicap hurdle previously due off at 2.55 - for the bet, which has rolled over for the past 11 weeks.

The six races contain a total of 77 runners."

Scoop6 news

Bring it on!

At The Races - Lingfield key to Scoop6:
"Odds compilers at the Tote have been studying the crucial races on the Flat card following the 48-hour declarations.

'Provisionally there were four possible races in contention at Lingfield. The 2.10, the 2.40, the 3.20 and the 3.50. The 3.20 was not originally down to be shown on Channel 4, but our odds compilers looked at it and said it's a very competitive race,' said totesport spokesman Damian Walker.
'It's likely that race will be included now in the Scoop6 and if it is Channel 4 will show it. The 2.10 also looks very competitive.

'The 2.10, the 2.40 and the 3.20 are all likely at this stage to be in the Scoop6 which would then leave us looking for another three races, possibly two at Huntingdon and the 2.45 at Haydock. We've also got the possibility of the 3.05 Amlin Chase at Ascot. It's taking shape now, but the final decision will be made as soon as we can after the overnight declarations.

'Punters who want to get an early start by looking at the form should probably concentrate on the 2.10, the 2.40 and the 3.20 races at Lingfield which look likely races in the Scoop6 at this stage.'

After the bet was not won for the 10th week running the win fund now stands at £2,037,527 while there is £904,426 in the bonus fund."

Scoop6 news

news - www.racingpost.co.uk: "THE TOTE are reeling from an 'amazing' gamble on Thursday morning on how much willbe bet on the Scoop6 on Saturday.

Punters latched onto their 50-1 that over £4 million will be added to the near £3m rollover funds and by first-race time on Thursday the price was down to 5-2, with stakes limited as the Tote struggled to tot up the liabilities.

'It has been incredible,' said Tote spokesman Damian Walker. 'Any price we go is being taken and our odds compilers have never seen anything like it. This is the biggest specials market we have ever taken.'
The 50-1 was initially cut to 14-1 but with punters still eager to get on, the price has gone through 10-1, 8-1 and 5-1 to reach 5-2.

As a consequence, the 13-8 favourite that £2-£2.5m will be added on Saturday is out to 5-1. It's 100-1 under £1.5m, 9-2 over £2.5m-£3m and £3.5-£4m is in to 5-2 from 14-1."

The Press Association: Sunny scoops prize to deny punters: "The totescoop6 rolls over for a 10th time after Sunnyhillboy sprung a 14-1 surprise in the closing Racing UK Novices' Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham.

A total of 19 tickets were remaining before the extended two-mile heat, but Dominic Elsworth scuppered their chances with a perfectly-judged ride aboard Jonjo O'Neill's charge.

Sunnyhillboy was level with outsider Maneki Neko at the last and although he made hard work of it on the run-in, Elsworth's mount held on to ensure a record fund in next week's Scoop6 bet.

'It was a funny old race - they didn't go a great gallop. It's nice to ride winners at big meetings,' said Elsworth.

With over £2million in the win fund and a further £904,426 in the bonus pool, a record combined pot was on offer. But that amount is set to be dwarfed by next week's potential combined prize of up to £5million and the Tote are anticipating another bumper day of business."

Next Saturday's racing on Channel 4 is scheduled to be from:
Ascot 3:05

Scoop6 Races 15th Nov Rollover

Four races from Cheltenham and two races from Wetherby make up the six scoop6 races that could win one lucky punter at least £1.3m or it could be shared amongst the members of some of the big syndicates.

Scoop6 Races

Race One – 2.00 Cheltenham

Race Two – 2.35 Cheltenham

Race Three – 2.55 Wetherby

Race Four – 3.10 Cheltenham

Race Five – 3.25 Wetherby

Race Six – 3.45 Cheltenham

Hopefully there will be some pointers from today's racing at Cheltenham.

Scoop6 news

Horse racing: Big hitters line up huge stakes for Tote's Scoop6 tilts | Sport | The Guardian: "The last four races from the major meeting at Cheltenham and two more at Wetherby are expected to make up the challenge facing punters playing the Tote's Scoop6 tomorrow, when the dividend for a single winning £2 ticket could exceed £2m. All six races are due to be fiercely competitive handicaps, including the 20-runner Paddy Power Gold Cup.. . .

with a record rollover of £1,303,036 in tomorrow's pool, the result of 10 consecutive weeks without an outright winner, there is real optimism at the Tote that someone will win a life-changing, headline-grabbing sum of money.

To date, the biggest Scoop6 payout for to an individual, small-staking punter is £878,939, received by Ron Nicholson in April 2004 for a stake of just £4. The record for a small-stakes punter who also won the bonus fund the following week is £688,620, paid to Agnes Haddock, who had a single £2 line in the original pool, in February 2007

Harry Findlay, probably Britain's most famous full-time punter, and Richard "Scoop6 Squirrel" Brocklebank, both of whom are multiple winners of the bet, were both starting to plan their latest assaults on the pool yesterday.

"I'm going to have a massive go," Findlay said, "and it's a big relief for me that it's jumping, after the horror of the Flat races over the last few weeks. It's a very important play for me on Saturday. I've got a runner at Cheltenham, but I won't be there. I'll be at home, working on the Scoop6.

"I've got people like Glenn [Gill] who work on the form, then for me it's all about working out the perms and deciding exactly how much to have on to get the most value.

"But for me, there's no other rollover bet in the world to compete with the Scoop6 and I've got no doubt that, whether you have £2 in there on Saturday or a £40,000 perm, you're going to be getting value. The only real advantage for a big syndicate like ours is that you're much more likely to get some money back from the place fund

Brocklebank, who gained his nickname by dressing as a squirrel to meet up with other Scoop6 winners prior to a tilt at the bonus fund a few years ago, is also preparing a significant perm.

"I'd think we might put about 50,000 lines at £2 each, which is our biggest ever stake, but then this is the biggest ever rollover, so you have got to stake accordingly," Brocklebank said yesterday.

"Overall, I'd guess I've made a profit of about £1m on the Scoop6 now. I used to bet on all sorts of things, but I've found over the years that this bet and the Jackpot are the only ones I can make pay."

Saturday’s fare will now kick off with the Grade Two Ryman The Stationer Juvenile Novices’ Hurdle (12.50), while the finale is the Racing UK Novices’ Handicap Hurdle (3.45).

Horse Racing Tips Tuesday Results

Three nice winners today, the first was the best at 11/1 but this only went out in my email as a lay and back bet.

The message read "Three shorties again, lay the first, a drifter Azure Mist and back Salerosa 14/1 each way, Duffield has been looking to place this horse recently and today could be the day. The other 2 are both win fancies"

The other two let me down but betting/ proofing stop at a winner means it does not matter

High Court injunction for bogus tipster

Is the injunction fitting punishment?

news - www.racingpost.co.uk:

"A BOGUS tipster from West Sussex has been prevented from carrying out any more scams after being hit with a High Court injunction following action taken by the OFT.

Denis McCarthy sent out a series of mailshots under the name of D&E Associates offering a racing tipster service which, at a cost of up to £397, promised the chance to win 'over £2,000 per week tax free'. It is believed that more than 4,000 people sent money in response to the letters, netting McCarthy an estimated £300,000.

The OFT considered the mailings to be misleading as they gave the impression that the supposed experts behind D&E Associates, Peter Deegan and Christopher Emmerson, were real people with over 60 years combined experience in the racing industry who had access to inside information.....

The High Court injunction prohibits McCarthy from continuing to be involved in the publication of misleading advertisements promoting tipster services. "

Gambling Housewife Free Horse Racing Tips Results

A good day at the "office" with four winners at 10/1, 9/2, 4/1 & 10/11. The 10/1 shot was actually one of my top rated shorties that drifted but still won nicely.

The Jackpot was not won today so £4,014.57 is carried forward to Southwell tomorrow. Fellow tipster Catweasle tipped 5 out of 6 winners yesterday at Southwell so watch this space!

I have made a handsome profit of +€11.26 and that brings my year to date, overall figures to +€49.83, with 144 winners from 522 settled bets. My margin for the year is running at a very decent 9.54%. Show me a bank paying those rates."

Very nice profit indeed!

Super Saturday Rollovers

As well as the huge Scoop6 pool there is a very attractive Jackpot at Ascot with £205,443.53 carried forward before any bets are placed today. No huge fields so I fully expect the big syndicates to pile in but will stick with my 2 picks in 3 races and just one in the other three....and cross everything!
