Towcester forced to abandon Sunday's fixture - Horse Racing News | Racing Post
SUNDAY'S meeting at Towcester has been abandoned.
The threat of heavy rain on Saturday night forced officials to inspect at 8am on Sunday and the predicted downpour materialised, leaving clerk of the course Robert Bellamy and his team with no choice but to abandon.
"We've abandoned due to waterlogging," Bellamy said.
"We had 7mm of rain yesterday afternoon, 10mm overnight, it's raining now and more isforecast."
