Friday card abandoned at frozen Catterick - Horse Racing News | Racing Post
OFFICIALS were forced to abandon Catterick's seven-race card on Friday after the track was hit by overnight lows of -8C.
An inspection had been planned for 8am but clerk of the course Fiona Needham brought forward the check.
"We got to -8C overnight and it was still -7C at 6.15am. We had no chance, the track is frozen so we brought forward the decision."
