bogus tipsters

"PUNTERS are being to urged to ignore the latest attempt by bogus tipsters to scam them using a service operating under the name Racing Post Extra Limited.

Potential victims have contacted the Racing Post newspaper after receiving unsolicited texts offering a 14-day free trial to the service.

The practice was highlighted last August when potential victims were being pressed to pay £1,500 for an annual subscription after being sent unsolicited free tips by text.

By choosing the name Racing Post Extra Limited, the fraudsters are attempting to trade off the newspaper's reputation, but it has no connection to the Racing Post or its associated publications and online services."
