Guardian Unlimited Sport | Horse racing | Ron Cox's betting week

Who wants to be a millionaire? Winning the Scoop Six this week could be the best chance for small stakes horse raing punters but if last weeks results are anything to go by form books are out the window and long shot winners the order of the day.

Guardian Unlimited Sport | Horse racing |: "Channel 4's six televised races from York and Bangor on Saturday could make someone a millionaire. The Tote's multiple bet, the Scoop6, has not been won for the last five Saturdays and this weekend's pot is forecast to top £600,000. A lucky winner would then be chasing a bonus in the region of £400,000 a week later."

The article states that 50% of large pools like this are won by syndicates - I have not looked at the fields yet but lets hope they are large so that the syndicates cannot cover all combinations for profit and give us £2 a go punters a chance, even if it is a real outsiders chance.
