Have had a fair few winners the past few days, 9/2 next best bet yesterday, Saturday 7/1, 11/10 & 5/4, Friday placepot & 9/4 nb. Have been infuriatingly close for the placepots and Scoop Six too, will today be the day?

Lovelace won at a tasty 5/1 with Dunelight in 2nd for the exacta which paid £12.00

I was planning on not making any horse racing selections today as I fly to see my daughter just after midnight tonight but I have a little time to spare and am hoping to do better than yesterdays three winning racing tips so I can away on a high and with some extra spending money.

Todays horse racing selections will be available before the first race of the day.

Racing tips York Ebor Meeting

Today's horses are online now for the York Tote Ebor meeting, including an Exacta for the Ebor. So heres hoping for a better day, yesterday was very poor with just two short priced selections winning to save the betting bank.

Saturday Scoop 6 & Horse Racing Tips

In Fridays racing tips email I wrote "Not a bad day yesterday with best horse racing bet and both top rated winning. That cannot happen today because the first top rated Broomielaw 4/5 4.10 Doncaster, is a ridiculously short price probably because it has been put out as a free email tip by a well known tipster and Tanya from channel four racing also gives it a big write up. At the RP forecast 2/1 it was a possible best bet but now it is included for the jackpot but no bet otherwise. The second top rated Raccoon 6/4 7.10 Catterick gets 4 points win.

I have put up my jackpot tips but the Doncaster meeting looks a veritable minefield with big fields and four maiden races."

Both the top rated horses won very easily unlike my main tips which all failed to win, but yet again my jackpot tips contained 3 winners - one a stonking 20/1 - 4 placed horses and two forecasts - exactas, the first of which paid £153.80 CSF £132.10

So I will sleep on it and consider changing my strategy to stop at a winner or similar but that does pose problems for proofing my horse racing tips, hmmm.

Winning horse racing tips Wednesday

I am seriously considering making some changes to my betting strategy, my jackpot placepot tips are throwing up a fair few winners and even more placed horses even though the jackpot race meetings do not always feature what are considered "good" betting races.

Take today's Salisbury races for example, the first three races are maidens with 14 horses racing in each of them of which about a third have never run on a racecourse before. So with very little form to go on, to pick a horse to back the most relevent stats available are trainer and jockey course statistics and recent stable form. Alas these may mean nothing when racing against an unraced hotpot.

This does however mean that there is more chance of longer priced horses winning which, if you get them right, means higher returns and especially a higher return for the jackpot placepot as less people are likely to get a share of the pool. Yesterdays results at Salisbury back up this theory with only one favourite winning and only one favourite being placed! Not a favourite backers day there then. I tipped up one winner, one second and 3 thirds so backing place only would have shown a tidy profit.

So is place backing my jackpot placepot tips the way to go?

As I write at Salisbury I tipped the horse that came second in the first race and the winner of the second

Winning Jackpot tips Newmarket Races

Sods law strikes again! In yesterdays email I wrote:

"Good afternoon,

apologies for the time but the Newmarket Jackpot meeting is particularly fiendish today I think."

So then what happens? Yup, all my main horse racing tips let me down but 4 winners and two placed from the Jackpot selections, sods law again i did not pick a winner or placed horse in two legs.

143.93 points profit since last Saturday! Friday I had a touch of seconditus but still made a profit on the following tips:

Yesterday was even better with both my nap and next best romping home and a very nice 14/1 longshot.

Yesterdays email didnt have any extra tips but I did ask if " you all took the hint and backed the two shorties yesterday for a profitable day?"

Pleased with yesterdays results, on singles alone the two winners returned 39.50 points profit and the double another 29.25 points profit. The winning horses were:
