I pass on mover Light From Mars in favour of one from my notebook, Blue Spartan 4/1 gambled on last time out but lost when his bit slipped." Blue Spartan won 3/1

George Baker Blog

well worth checking out for his take on the day to day life of a trainer..

"Horses will always confuse us - but Twiglet last night at Wolverhampton was beyond comprehension. She failed to raise a gallop from halfway in her 7 furlong contest and finished tailed off. She basically did not try a yard and her next date will be in a Seller with some headgear.

Deeply disappointing - as it is incredibly frustrating when horses pay the team back for the months of hard work and care in this way. And miserable for my Sister and Owner of the horse, Muffy Baker, who deserves better. Twiglet did not even have a blow afterwards - she basically did sweet FA and I was pretty grumpy with her just now at feeding time.....

Baizically has been another "project horse" for Pat and...."

Scoop6 Bonus Race & Harry Findlay

Harry Findlay and his collaborators will battle it out with the Elite Racing Club to try and find the winner of the Betfred Silver Bowl and the chance to win the £298,956 bonus fund this weekend.

Findlay and Elite were among the 11 winning units who picked up the dividend of £59,027, last Saturday, following a victory for Baby Strange in the last leg at Newbury.

Whilst Elite are going it alone with their two winning selections, professional punter, Findlay, has signed up the remaining tickets to give him and his team nine selections.

Would I have "sold out" to Findlay if I had a winning ticket?

Tote Jackpot Rollover Newcastle Races

Pool Update 10am: £35,006.36, will it be won today? I will be having a go, just think, one winning jackpot a year can be equivilent to a years salary and if it is good enough for pro gambler Harry Findlay to go for multi bets with big money to be won it is good enough for me..

Googgamblingguide reported: "Super punter Harry Findlay scooped an amazing 2million in 48 hours. It is the biggest two-day win in British racing history.

Lucky Harry picked up a 1m jackpot twice and it is the third time the professional gambler has pocketed 1m this year, after he also won at Cheltenham."

Going through the card now, what a dream to go through it with 6 winners (again)!

OK day yesterday with an early finish at "the office" thanks to a 4/1 winner in the first race of the jackpot card.

Monday horse racing tips Bath Jackpot card

As the Tote Jackpot meeting is Bath today that is where my main tips are for. The daily email has been sent and the free racing tips will be published before the first race.

A couple of stats re todays racing:

Sir M Prescott he does exceptionally well with his runners at Musselburgh (43% strike-rate) and his Aleatricis is entitled to plenty of respect on his handicap debut.

Hugh Taylor writes for ATR on the draw bias at BATH
Since 2005 in sprint handicaps with 12 or more runners, stalls 1-3 are 0-71 (six of those started favourite at 3-1 or shorter and all six were unplaced). Since 2000 in sprint handicaps with 16 or more runners, stalls 1-4 are 1-121.

Belmont Stakes stats and info

Also known as the "Run for the Carnations" because of the blanket of white carnations that are draped over the winner's neck, The Belmont has been won by nine foreign-born horses, five of them for the UK. They are:

1898 - Bowling Brook UK
1917 - Hourless UK
1918 - Johren UK
1957 - Gallant Man
1958 - Cavan UK
1960 - Celtic Ash
1990 - Go And Go
1998 - Victory Gallop

On June 7, 2008 this years Belmont horses include the Kentucky Derby winner Big Brown is seroius odds-on (2/5 today) with British bookmakers to complete the elusive American Triple Crown on June 7 after another awesome display in the Preakness Stakes. If Big Brown does win and thuscompletes the Triple Crown he would be the first since Affirmed did the triple in 1978.

The Racing Post reports that "THREE CHIMNEYS FARM of Kentucky has signed an agreement to stand the unbeaten Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner Big Brown next year.

According to published reports, the contract gives Three Chimneys a minority interest in the colt's stud rights only, while his racing career will remain in the hands of International Equine Acquisitions Holdings and Paul Pompa jnr. . . Bred by Dr Gary Knapp's Monticule farm from the Nureyev mare Mien, Big Brown will now head for the Belmont Stakes. The questions of long his racing career will last after that, and what stud fee he will command, are the next questions to set the rumour mill grinding."

Next in the betting the main rival to Big Brown in The Belmont could be the Japanese Casino Drive, sent off 7-5 favourite, is a half-brother to the two most recent Belmont Stakes winners Jazil and Rags To Riches. He made his one and only previous start on February 23 at Kyoto, winning by more than 11 lengths. He covered the 1m1f in 1m47.87secs.

Bumper winning Tuesday

. . . for my email subscribers as I advised

"Good morning,

Thank heavens for Sir Mark yesterday with his Reclamation winning at 4/1. He runs one tonight at Great Leighs 6.50 and Alleviate 4/1 could turn over the Cumani hotpot Boz especially if Seb outrides Jamie Spencer. WON 5/1

Of the two onsite shorties I fancy the first to win but despite Bienheureux being a Brighton specialist I prefer Summer of Love at 5/1 who returns to the level off lowest ever mark; has form at 1m4f and King has had four winners this term that have returned from hurdling plus a 33% strike rate here

Summer of Love WON 5/2

. . . email peeps cashed in with two extra winners today!

Winning racing tips

Wel, it seems that the winners have started flowing again, not greta prices for everyone but still god enough to ensure a profit.

Thurs 6/5, 5/4, 5/6 Wed 6/1, 9/4, 15/8, 11/8, 11/8

not too shabby even if I do say so myself.

The jackpot meeting is at Bangor on Friday and there is a small rollover as it was not won today. So, Friday's free racing tips will concentrate on Bangor and will be online before the first race.
